About Iryna

Iryna joined Dark Horse in 2021, bringing 4.5 years of prior experience in analytical method development within cell therapy with a focus on research and implementation of novel analytical technologies into early as well as late stage pipeline products.

Iryna’s career began at Juno Therapeutics (now Bristol Myers Squibb), where she joined as a Research Associate working in a routine analytical testing team to support CAR-T cell therapies. In this role she gained extensive experience in execution and analysis of various flow cytometry, cell based and molecular assays as well as development of automated high throughput methods. She closely collaborated with Process Development to advise on appropriate study analytics, assist with interpretation of results and present findings.

After 1.5 years on the Analytical Core team, Iryna transitioned into a more development-focused role in the R&D Department where she was responsible for designing novel flow cytometry analytics for early stage CAR-T drug programs as well as researching promising and innovative technologies to increase efficiency and simplify the analytical workflow. One of her main focuses was implementing a unique, cartridge-based spectral flow cytometer within a development environment and demonstrating this platform’s advantage over traditional flow cytometers in the QC and manufacturing space. She was with the project from the early proof-of-concept phase, helping advance it through the stage-gate process, all the way until its successful implementation in the manufacturing suite for one of BMS’ newly FDA approved CAR-T therapies, Breyanzi®. Iryna played a key role in this milestone, leading analytical comparability studies between the new platform and the traditionally used flow cytometry method. Iryna was the main SME and trainer for this technology, providing technical support and data review across multiple sites and programs, as well as coordinating instrument installation, maintenance, and bridging.
