About Blake

Blake joined Dark Horse Consulting in 2021, bringing 5 years of experience in process development and technology transfer of cell and gene-modified cell therapy products with a focus on novel technology development.

Blake’s career began in Seattle Genetics where he was responsible for maintenance of equipment supporting Research, QC and GxP labs including executing bioburden monitoring of the reverse osmosis deionized water system. He authored SOPs and ensured GDP compliance regarding the controlled document storage room.

Blake joined Juno Therapeutics in 2016 in the Quality Assurance Operations department. His primary responsibility was oversight of cGMP operations including leukapheresis receipt, raw material and patient lot disposition, batch record review, deviation investigations, SOP and batch record revisions, and training.

In his most recent role as a Process Engineer in the Process Sciences and Technologies department, Blake developed manufacturing scale cell purification technology in collaboration with a research lab in Munich, Germany. These activities involved single use system, hardware and DeltaV automation development and characterization. He also executed process development and technology transfer of CAR-T cell therapies (CC-97540 and CC-98633) from Seattle, WA to Warren, NJ. Blake’s Six Sigma Green Belt enables him to facilitate root cause analysis, failure mode and effects analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
